Skipper remains popular with Momotaro. (Momotaro is a gentle, thoughtful, observant little person who is deeply skeptical of me and also does not understand this whole camera thing. I think he thought I was up to something sketchy.) He is also very popular with her, and she wept wretchedly when we left.
*We returned to find it even hotter in Oregon. Also, it's very smoky, and everything is coated in a fine layer of ash, because Oregon is mostly on fire right now. Portland Public Schools is closing school two hours early tomorrow because of the air quality and heat. Which I guess is understandable... But still, following on the umpteen snow days last year, and on the FOURTH DAY OF SCHOOL, an early release(the most challenging kind of closure for working parents to cover, in my experience) feels pretty irritating.
