Tomorrow, crack.

Yesterday Dutch asked Cook if he would please make a cake when they got home. Actually, could he just leave her in the kitchen with an open bag of sugar, please?

In further discussion, it emerged that one of her classmates had smuggled several small packets of sugar (the kind you get with your coffee) into the daycare. This is, of course, not allowed. So some of the kids, being old enough to understand the concept of Sneaking, hid behind a bush in the playground and furtively ate sugar. The sweetness and the thrill of getting away with such a taboo seem to have delighted Dutch. Not being old enough to understand the concept of Really Sneaking, she told us all about it, and then tried to recreate the sensation by conning us into leaving her in the kitchen with an open bag of sugar.

She's so open, still. She "sneaks," but then delightedly confesses all. But now I can see that the doors and windows are beginning to close...
