So far, the new apartment beats the old apartment. Here's the score:
Old Apartment: Rats in plumbing (-1), drafty (-1), expensive (-1), crappy landlord (-1), splintery floor (-1), crappy stove (-1), crappy lighting in bathroom (-1), great neighborhood (+2), lots of space (+1) = -4
New Apartment: drafty (-1), probably moldy (-2), excellent lighting in bathroom (+1), good neighborhood (+1), decent kitchen with fullsize appliances (+1), not very much space (-1), not so expensive (+1) = 0
I'm pretty happy with 0.
