Buy me some peanuts!
Today we went to a baseball game! It was Skipper's first, Dutch's second (we went to a Mariners game with Rockstar Uncle when she was 10 months old). Neither of them were very impressed. Skipper slept through the whole game, except the third inning, which she nursed through. In the fifth inning, Dutch started whining that she wanted to be HOME. She does not like CrackerJack - she explained "It's not what I was expecting!" She likes singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame, but was bummed that nobody sang along with The Star Spangled Banner. (We'd practiced both songs quite a bit). There was an attempted (and foiled) double steal! And two home runs! Dutch met Lucky Beaver!* Dutch almost got hit by a foul ball! Dutch (along with all other children under 12, not including Skipper) got a free nutritious meal of a hotdog, soda, and potato chips! Yum! AND I treated Dutch to a session in the inflatable bouncy house thingy over in the Keeping The Kids From Whining About How They Want To Go Home area. Cook traded boring baseball minutiae with Brendan Behan, and I kept score. It was totally fun (except for the whining), and I look forward to going again.
