Looming

Dutch is getting big. She wears clothes sized for 4-6-year-olds and has grown out of her enormous carseat. Today when I picked her up from daycare, she was wearing the extra clothes I had stashed in her cubby a month ago (due to an incident involving a baby doll getting a "bath"), and the shirt was riding up over her navel and the pants hovering well over her ankles.

Strangers see her as a dim, poorly-coordinated 5-year-old with some behavior problems, and I think even people who know her age expect more from her because of her enormity. When she's the biggest kid in kindergarten, they'll probably nickname her Moose.
