Cook and I were talking about the campaign to lower the drinking age to 18. I think it's pretty reasonable - I see that college presidents have plenty of good cynical reasons to support this, but I believe there are also good solid arguments for bringing drinking out of the dorms and let kids learn how to drink reasonably. Cook mentioned that MADD is opposed to it, not surprisingly. My counter-suggestion is that we lower the drinking age to 16, and raise the driving age to 21, since driving is way more dangerous than drinking. When I am Dictator, it shall be so.
