This week's movies

Skipper, sleeping in the Chair of Doom yesterday. This was a random and brief occurrence - I put her down awake right after nursing her, and she slipped into her usual post-nursing three-minute coma. But look at her in her brightly-colored onesie, twitching adorably as she dreams happily of the boob! Also, note the freaky Cook-family-open-eyed-sleeping thing.



And here's Skipper* deploying just a few of her vast arsenal of facial expressions, most of which seem to be designed to communicate one of five basic messages:
1) Hey, lady, bring those breasts over here RIGHT NOW!
2) Who ARE you people, anyway, and why are you making those weird noises?
3) AAAAAAAHHHHHH! WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!!!
4) Well, I guess this is okay.
5) Uh-oh. I feel that something bad is about to happen.

*And yes, that is Shakira playing in the background of the video. Whenever, wherever! I'm trying to ensure that Skipper grows up listening to more than just jazz (Cook), musicals (Dutch) and ballet scores (um... Dutch).

excellent translation of baby facial expressions. simply excellent.

also, i agree, cranky is an excellent word. sadly, i too am way too intimate with crankyness lately due to too many demands on my time/person. which i am finally and ecstatically paring down. goodbye day job! yippee!
