Spring, Portland-style

So it's not warm enough for tomatoes or beans or delicious stuff like that, but our lettuce and kale are very happy.

I'd like to know what that generic shrub (I see it in lots of yards) with the crazy fuschia flowers is. Anybody know?

Tomato, lettuce, strawberries, and alyssum.

Strawberries, blueberries, and shrubs.

Kale, lettuce, carrots, strawberries, flowers (Grape hyacinth? Lilies? Whatever) and shrubs.

Evergreen huckleberry (foreground), salmonberry, and the ancient grapevine.
